Five Degrees of Ruination: Scientists Forecast Dramatic Temperature Increase

The planet must not be allowed to warm beyond 2 degrees Celsius, according to the official targets at the Climate Change Conference in Doha. But a new study shows the goal is far from realistic. Current human activity is set to increase the temperature by some 5 degrees, and the consequences will be dire, scientists warn.

As an earth scientist of 32 years experience, I never thought that man-made global warming was a valid proposition. Its a political theology and Europe has swallowed the whole fallacious idea hook line and sinker.
Even when faced with the evidence that a cabal of climate academics falsified data, suppressed dissenting opinions and basically made the whole thing up, people still believe it is valid. Man-made global warming has taken on the trappings of a religion and just like in the 1500's anyone who voices a differing opinion is branded a heretic or apostate. The earth has warmed and cooled many times in the past and it is part of a normal cycle. Climatatologists look at short term changes in the earths climate systems, and by definition are not geologists. I see too many so-called scientists weighing in on the topic that have as much knowledge about it as a dentist does about brain surgery. It is a tool to force socio-political change, its authors have said as much, a tool for transferring wealth from the developed nations to the 3rd world. The only person that has benefited from efforts to curb CO2 emissions is Al Gore who has earned over $300 million by trading carbon credits. It is a sham, and Der Spiegel should be ashamed that is still propagating the myth.
