The bad news just keeps coming for Greece. Now, it appears that the country will have to make even deeper cuts than anticipated to satisfy its international creditors. German commentators wonder when the downward spiral will come to an end.

The problem that the Euro Crisis highlights is that the EU lacks legitimacy. When the Constitution was rejected by the peoples of several countries it was then rammed down their throats in the guise of a treaty, when my country had the temerity of rejecting the treaty in a referendum, the solution was to do it over until we got it "right". This is just one example of the undemocratic methods which the EU has been using. When all that was being decided were fairly noncontrovercial economic issues about trade no one cared but now that the attempt is being made to create one country, even though step by step, there must be democratic legitimacy.
