Germany's far-right National Democratic Party plans to hold a "festival" this weekend in the eastern German town of Pasewalk. But locals, led by the mayor, are trying to stop the neo-Nazi event. It is the first time the area's population has stood up to the extremists -- and it may turn out to be a losing battle.

In London, UK, back in the seventies, when the National Front began to get too noisy for comfort, the Anti-Nazi-League was re-ramped to do what was done in the East End of London with Mosely's black shirts... prevent them rallying.. prevent them spreading their malicious propaganda of hatred and bullying. I wish liberal rule-of-law solutions worked to contain fascism because my convictions are liberal... but when it comes to overt Nazis, they must be comprehensively infiltrated by brave agents of the State and they need to be kept from flourishing with something very unsubtle and empirical... large baseball bats.
Unfortunately out-bullying bullies is the only recourse they are capable of understanding... The other cheek will just fill the cemeteries with their victims and trying to engage in debate will simply be a gift of oxygen to them to make emotive appeals to the id of their potential recruits. Depressing but that's how it is |
