Default Tour de Gaffes: Romney Flops in Europe

He's only been abroad for a week, but the Palestinians are accusing him of racism, the Brits are annoyed and Polish union leaders don't like him. Mitt Romney's trip to Europe and the Middle East has been marred by one fumble after the next.

Default Get used to it!

I would not be proud of this article. It took two of you to write meaningless such story!
One side calls it a flop.
The other side likes it.

What else is not new?

Obama is not going to get re-elected and maybe politics needs someone who tells it like it is. What is obvious is that this article is biased. European popularity never got any US president elected. Romney is very deliberate and what he says has to be taken at face value. His positions are set, whether you like them or not, they can't be taken as gaffes.

You might not want to start your article out belittling his churches missionary service in France. You try to convert anyone in France to an American religion. "Only" 10 to 20 is an extremely successful number. At least he speaks French fluently. My understanding of Mormon missions are that they are character and leadership training grounds for young 19 year old men. Success is not measured by the number of baptisms. And since the US is a very religious country with established civil rights of religion, I would stay away from that topic, lest you get into a very sensitive american topic of religion and bigotry.

In Britain, you could clearly see that he was talking like an executive evaluating the Olympic business. All we saw was Obama's friends acting up!

In Israel, he came down so strong on the Israeli side since the Jewish vote is so influential and much more dominate than any Palestinian voting block in the US. He is trying to get elected in the US, not Europe or the Middle East!

In Poland, Obama's friends got the unions to act up. Who cares? Romney is not going to get the union vote in the US. The unions are not that powerful in the US.

Romney is not trying to be a diplomat, at this point, even though he probably needs to improve those skills. He is trying to get elected President of the US. He did absolutely no damage here in the US.

The voting blocks are set already here. Democrats are going to vote for Obama. Republicans are going to vote for Romney. They are equal in size. The only question is who will the Independents go for, since they will decide the election? Independents don't care what the White House thinks or what Der Spiegel thinks!

The more games Obama and his stooges play, the more he irritates the independents! As an Independent, I can feel that Obama has already lost it! It is bordering on desperation. Its over! Get used to it!

Default The Judges of the trip will be US Voters

The voters of the US will decide whether Romney's trip was a success or not. I am no fan of Romney or Obama, but will probably vote for Romney because Obama has failed (I voted for Obama four years ago because the Republicans had failed.) I did not vote for Romney to be Governor of Massachusetts.

US voters don't really care what the world thinks of our Presidential Candidates. They are running for President of the US, not President of the World. The visit to Israel was probably a plus for Romney. The visits to Britain and Poland were probably pluses also.

I remember Obama's visit to Germany when running in 2008 where he was met by a crowd of 75,000 adoring Germans. This is a negative to most Americans.

I remember Obama receiving the Nobel Peace Prize right after he entered office, when he had done absolutely nothing to deserve it. This was definitely a negative to most Americans.

Default Nice hit piece

Wow! What a slanted, pro-Obama piece. No balance here at all. Of course, it's Spiegel. Of course they want Obama. He will bring the U.S. to it's knees. It will be brought to third world status. Germany and France (ok, maybe not) will finally call the shots in the world again. Forget Russia. Forget China. Spiegal only wants the U.S. pulled down- as it has for the last 25 or more years.
