Stop all wars, not possible. War is always a death penalty for innocent people/non believers in a cause.
Stop crop failures, they create death penalties for those involved. A death penalty, is only such, because of conflict, death is a right for us all. a penalty we will all pay for having lived in side or outside of civil law. |

Of course the Death Penalty should be banned globally, but this wish cannot be fulfilled when even
religions and so-called democratic governments believe they have the right to order the murder of human-beings. It is not so very long ago, that the world could see in television how a Freedoms Nobel Prize winner revelled at the death of Bin Laden. The Jews have one of the oldest known list of basic laws, said to be given to them by God via Moses. These include, the forbiddance of killing and robbery. Since 1948, Israel has not only grown enormously, by confiscating the private properties of Palestinians, but also the government has consistently followed a policy which allows the targeted killing of unwanted persons. It would of course be wrong to criticise Israel alone, hardly any country in the Middle East is free from those who seek power through death. The secret services of many European countries also have no conscience when it comes to removing possible disturbers from the scene. A ban would certainly be right, but it has no chance to succeed with the leaders we now have. |

This is a gray topic, Death penalty should be banned because there are many who were wrongfully convicted and are now proven innocence with the help of DNA test which were not available back then. DNA test have freed many that were wrongfully convicted back then and these people deserve a second chance.
On the other hand tyranny who commit massacre to gain power or hatred against others should be put down without a doubt and for this reason I support death penalty. |

It may be thought that the death penalty is the atavistic desire of revenge, crystallized into law. The problem with it is A.) It's final; and humans are fallible; ergo., innocent persons will also be killed. That would seem un-avoidable, given the problems of investigation, forensics, etc..
However, the natural, atavistic, human desire for revenge is not assuaged by anything less. |

Nobody wants to die, but there are people who do kill in cold blood...and know exactly what they are doing.
People who kill innocent children, people who kill other people must face the consequences, regardless in which they country they live in. On the other hand, there´s is life punishment. This could be an option if the criminal in fact does remain in prison for the rest of his life and remember every single moment the crime he committed. But, why use the taxpayer´s money for such people? What a waste of money! And, in the end, this criminal will be in the street after some years have passed. A person who commits a terrible crime, should be hanged in the main square or burnt at the stake. Therefore, banning the death penalty, will only make it easier for those who have hate in their hearts to kill innocent people. |

When you talk about death penalty, it is about how we react to criminal acts. Instead of a total ban, we should talk about the criteria to apply it and avoid injustice. Terrorist acts and serial killer can not be solved only by prison penalties.
