Default It's Actually Cooling!

Here's another piece on the subject:

BOOM: Gold Standard of Temperature Data Proves Earth Is Cooling In Spite of Dramatic Increases in CO2

by directorblue @ http://directorblue.blogspot.com/201...=Google+Reader

HadCRUT is the dataset of monthly temperature records formed by combining the sea surface temperature records compiled by the Hadley Centre of the Met Office and the land surface temperature records compiled by the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia. --Source

HadCRUT is the United Nations' gold-standard for the measurement of global temperatures. The data-set proves that over the last 15 years (180 months) the Earth has cooled, not warmed as predicted.

HadCRUT released their latest global temperature dataset today, which confirmed what both NOAA and NASA reported earlier this month - that global temps declined during July 2012.

In addition, the plot of the HadCRUT and CO2 data for the last 15 years, through July 2012, is very revealing.

Contrary to what the mainstream press reports and exaggerates about "global warming," the world has actually been in a stable-to-cooling phase since the El Nino temperature spike of 1997/98.

Of course, if the NYTimes or WAPO or CNN or CBS or the AP were ever to report the actual cooling trend over the last 15 years (despite the massive amounts of human CO2 emissions) this would establish that they have been grossly misleading the public for years about consensus "global warming."

And as the press fully realize, the public that primarily relies on traditional media outlets are extremely gullible with little intellectual curiosity. Thus the media gets away with hysterical fear-mongering, half-truths and deceptions.

Conclusion: Long story short - human CO2 emissions are not causing rapid, accelerating global warming, per the IPCC's favored HadCRUT temperature dataset. Over the last 15 years, global temperatures have been relatively stable, with a slight global cooling trend being exhibited. All the IPCC's and NOAA's climate experts, their climate models and the professional doomsayers have been absolutely wrong about their catastrophic climate predictions, for over a decade now - and not a single mainstream press outlet reports this. Solid advice to gullible: don't believe anything the mainstream press outlets "report."

In a curious semi-coincidence, the invaluable Anthony Watts relays word that over 2000 new low temperature records were set in October.

In the continental USA, there were 137 high temperature type records versus 857 low temperature type records this past week , a 6-1 difference. Last week there were 1154 low temperature type records putting the two week total for October at 2011. There were also 24 new snowfall records set this week in the upper plains.

Once again, if this had been summer, and the numbers reversed, you’d see Seth Borenstein writing articles for AP telling us this is ‘what global warming looks like’. So far not a peep out of Seth on this cold wave and what it is supposed to mean.

If we all do a little to lower our carbon emissions, then it is never too late to rescue our mother earth.

Default Risk

There is climate change, science tells us not to be certain yet that we are causing it but can we take the risk and do nothing? There certainly appear to be technological fixes possible.

Default What is Sustainability?

Until we know what we mean by this we will neither have a clear idea of the threat nor of the actions we need to take.
If the Climate is changing because of our actions we need to know the dangers and how we can alleviate matters but do look beyond Climate Change.

There are Bio-Diversity problems too. Scotland for example is suffering from a 64 times increase in biting insect population in the last three years. These 'midges' are tiny but form clouds in numbers that make them a real pest.
Many species are being eradicated, accidentally or deliberately.
There are resource issues as we consume more and more irreplaceable resources to make 'Stuff'.
There are Risk issues as we take action without knowing the consequences.
There are cultural sustainability issues as we bring together cultures with very different values.
There is always the fact that Human population keeps on rising and that it takes only a very small number of these humans to wipe out whole other species.
There is an education issue since to understand many of the Sustainability Issues requires having some scientific grounding and our schools do not do well here.

Default to my Black Hen and beyond

climate change could unveil predjudice we have not been able to prove involving the true development of man or angel, a survivor or hunter-gatherer with a more confounding time-line of existence, general and commercial benefit for the advertists of consumerism and the the patent saint abductors of democracy who plan to confiscate the world's last resources, seeings as they are luckily elected to fan their cow-boy rides into a false heaven !For instance a Cambrian solution of rock-find between two islands in the Antarctic and a differing profile of the African solution whilst weathers destroy immaculate prohibition, where will you be, knowing our television history has fomented your ideas even more-so under more desperate circumstances... will you decide then, as a depender on a frozen garden fork that god has loved you most ?

Default Direct evidence

Support for capping CO2 generated by humans lags because science relies on correlations between CO2 and warming, not causation. Science needs to produce a verifiable direct link between human generated CO2 and warming, otherwise their forecasts are opinion not scientific fact. The people sense this and react slowly if at all.

Default Climate Change

I firmly believe that there is nothing we can do do avert climate change.
We can make fossil fuels to burn cleaner and that gives us cleaner air to breathe but it will not contribute to any changes in our climate.
It is our sun that is the predominant influence on our climate. Carbon dioxide is the main gas emitted by burning fossil fuels, it is also the stuff that we exhale and it is being used by our plants as food. Without carbon dioxide there would be no plant life on earth.

Wind power will always be intermittent, just like solar voltaic power and it will be more expensive than fossil fuel, or nuclear power. This means that nations which are switching to these 'renewable' power sources will put themselves at an ecconomic disadvantage.

The USA and China as well as India have recognised this and they are building new and modern fossil fueled power generators in those countries.

Guess who will be winning the industrial race in this century?

I think that scientists should invent water engines for cars etc. so we won't need gasoline and then we won't produce CO2 as we do nowadays.

Default Going Hybrid

Global warming is caused by excessive carbon emission from millions of vehicles around the world. North America is the number one consumption of gasoline in the world and the only solution to this problem is going hybrid. Many car manufacturers are taking this route in an attempt to go green reducing carbon emission.

However, many consumers in North America are not ready for this change, why? Because currently it cost more to drive a hybrid than convention car that used gasoline and there aren’t many infrastructures set up at convenient locations for recharging when the batteries run out. I believed once demand increases for hybrid, this will drive down cost and more consumers will be able to afford to make this change.

Default Manmade Global Warming Fraud

I am getting bored. The globe can be getting warmer or colder, but the idea that the human contribution from burning carbon fuels has anything to do with it is not only IMHO the biggest political and intellectual fraud ever – but so says the IPCC itself: http://cleanenergypundit.blogspot.co...recession.html * The ongoing discussion pro and con is becoming akin to the scholastic argument as to how many angels can dance on the head of a needle. Which is, of course, exactly what is intended in order to achieve worldwide disorientation away from the actual IPCC aims of monetary and energy policies – and bringing a whole, if not all, of science into disrepute. Even the UK Royal Society has become Lysenkoist.”
