Default German Energy Agency Chief: 'We'll Need Conventional Power Plants until 2050'

Stephan Kohler, the head of the German Energy Agency, says the country must act smarter and more realistically in its transition to renewable energy. The "feel-good" subisides for locally produced wind and solar power have had unintended consequences, he says, and the envirnomental movement is often part of the problem.

Default Suicidal German energy policy.

That Germany has been a hostage to KGB gen. Putin and is GAZPROM is obvious.

But since Merkel, hoping in vain to improve her ratings, decided to close all German atomic power plants, where will German industry going to get a necessay power from?

From don Quixote's failed windmills???

Default What's wrong with ATOMIC power plants?

When Angela Merkel reversed herself in order to rescue her sinking ratings and announced that all atomic power plants in Germany would be closed, she's made her homeland even more vulnerable to a blackmail by KGB gen. Putin and his GAZPROM.

Do they still teach physics 101 in German high schools?

Or a society of scientific ignorants has been created there relying on peacenik, greenish propaganda and disinformation?

Default The great mistake

Closing the nuclear plants down is extremely short-sighted: no sunlight at night, not much in winter or fog, and the wind doesn't blow reliably either - so what are German households and industries supposed to do if the wind drops when it's dark or foggy? Shiver in the dark until the weather changes? Or rely entirely on gas from Russia ... it's not as if they'd ever exploit a situation to grab power over the East of Germany, is it? Oops...
